Pauline Roach Meriwether, 79, 319 Ridgeway Road, widow of Hugh M. Meriwether, died at her home Sunday. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, was involved in the early development and was a charter member of Beaumont Presbyterian Church and was a Board Member of the Child Development Center.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Cowden Raab, Columbia, SC; two sons, James R. Cowden, Jr., Lexington and Paul J. Cowden, Louisville; a brother; two sisters; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Lexington Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Smith officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the W.R. Milward Mortuary - Broadway. Active casket bearers will be Kurt M. Caldwell, Jeffery W. Caldwell, William H. Heaton, Larry Hopkins, Stanley Tarnofsky and John Douglass. Honorary casket bearers will be W.O. Hayden, Victor Hugo Fuller and William B. Cowden. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass or the Child Development Center.
