Douglas Eugene Crabtree, 65, of Alvaton, KY, died at 3:55 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2011, at his residence. The Indiana native was a former employee of James River, Weyerhaeuser and Firestone; a member of Woodburn Baptist Church and a Vietnam U.S. Army veteran. He was a son of the late Fonnis C. Crabtree and Mary Lou Day Crabtree.
He is survived by his wife: Carolyn J. Crabtree, Alvaton, KY; 2 sons: Shawn Crabtree and wife, Melanie, Scottsville, KY and Brian Crabtree, Hendersonville, TN; 3 step sons: Craig Bledsoe, Murfreesboro, TN; Jeff Bledsoe, Richardsville, KY and Brian Bledsoe, Brownsville, KY; 1 step daughter: Carol Lynn Bledsoe, Smiths Grove, KY; 4 brothers: Derald Crabtree, Scottsville, KY; James D. Crabtree, Alvaton, KY; Glenn Crabtree, Albany, KY and Billy Crabtree, Smiths Grove, KY; 1 sister: Anntoy Scott, Albany, KY; 2 grandchildren: Briley Crabtree and Brody Crabtree; and 9 step grandchildren.
