She was a highly motivated young girl finding employment at the telephone office at the young age of 14. It was there she met the love of her life, Clifford Flynn and they married when she was 18 & moved to Grand Canyon. She remained employed by Bell Telephone Company as Chief Operator until the new dial telephone technology replaced the friendly switchboard operators. She then worked in the business office at the general store.
After 30 happy years at Grand Canyon they transferred to Organ Pipe Cactus Nat'l Monument where she worked at both the Post Office and the general store in Lukevill AZ until Clifford retired, then moved to Tucson AZ.
After several years in Tucson the red hills of Kanab beconed to them and they came home to southern Utah to be closer to Thedas family. They enjoyed entertaining many visitors and friends from their park service years.
After Clifford's death theda moved to St. George UT to be close to her daughter.
Survived by daughter Maureen Sue, sister Emma Jean Mulliner, grandchildren Cris, Shane, Candace, Nicholas, David, Paty, Fernando, Daniel, Arturo, Ricardo and Anais and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford; her son Cliff and brothers Archer, Norman, Glen and Ray Swapp.
Memorial service held Oct 22 at Mosdell Mortuary in Kanab. Arrangements were made with Mosdell Mortuary.
