Cleo Allen Eagon
(July 8, 1920 - September 30, 2011)

Mr. Cleo Allen Eagon, age 91, of Halfway, Missouri passed away on Friday morning, September 30, 2011 at Parkview Healthcare Facility in Bolivar, Missouri.

He was born July 8, 1920 in Rock Prairie, Missouri to George R. Eagon and Stella Ethel (Potter) Eagon.

Cleo attended the Rock Prairie School, which was just a short distance from his home. As a child and a young man, he attended Rock Prairie Missionary Baptist Church where he was saved on September 16, 1940 at the age of 20. He later attended Fundamental Baptist Church of Pleasant Hope. Cleo spent most of his life working on the farm with his father raising crops, taking care of animals and doing whatever else was needed. He spent 3 ½ years in the U. S. Army serving his country in World War II.

Cleo and Jewell Cooksey were united in marriage on October 26, 1946 and were blessed with one son Warren Gene. They built their home on the family farm at Rock Prairie where they both lived until their passing. Cleo enjoyed fishing, visiting with friends, farming and for the past 12 years being a grandfather.

Cleo was preceded in death by his parents George and Stella, his brother Wilfred, his sister Nina, and his wife Jewell.

Surviving is his son Warren and wife Lynn of Halfway, MO. Also his grandson, Darren Lee Eagon of Halfway, MO. His brother-in-law Hobart Edwards and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 2, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Butler Chapel.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 3, 2011 at 10:30 AM in the Butler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bill Merritt officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Prairie Cemetery near Pleasant Hope under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar. Casketbearers will be Vester Choate, John Richner, David Agee, Dwayne McCroskey, Palmer May and Hackie Britton. Honorary Casketbearers will be Bub Britton, Allen Gott and Terry McCroskey.

Military Honors will be provided by the U. S. Army Honors Team.
