John F. Daniels, age 80, of Fredericktown-Amity Road, Fredericktown, passed away at his home on Friday, June 04, 2010.

He was born on August 19, 1929 in Knox County to the late Gail and Helen (Albright) Daniels. He graduated from Amity High School and attended Ashland University and Ohio State University. John was a dairy farmer his entire lifetime and was the sixth generation of the Daniels family to maintain their farm in Pike Township.

He was a member of the Danville Grace Brethren Church, had been a member of the Knox County Farm Bureau, the Knox County ASC (Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation) and had been supervisor of Knox County Soil and Water Conservation. He had been a 4H Advisor, was a past Pike Township Trustee and former member of the Amity School Board.

He is survived by his wife, of almost sixty years, Esther (Grumbling) Daniels; a daughter Debora (Thomas) Bailey of Butler; two sons, Terry (Bekky) Daniels of South Pasadena, California, Douglas (Pamela) Daniels of Fredericktown; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and a sister Barbara (Harry) Dunn of Danville.

Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his daughter Lynette Daniels, sisters Mildred Coon and Mary Daniels and brothers, Paul Daniels, Richard Daniels, and Robert Daniels.
