Age 78, of Lake Placid, FL died Friday, October 24, 1997 at Florida Hospital Orlando. Born in Xenia, Illinois he had been a resident of Lake Placid for the past 15 years moving from Delray Beach, Florida. He was the Medical Director of Emergency Services at Florida Hospital Lake Placid, Medical Director of the Highlands County Emergency Services, U.S. Army WW II Veteran, Licensed Methodist Episcopal Church Minister, member of the V.F.W. Post #3880 in Lake Placid, American Legion Placid Post #25, in Lake Placid, and his favorite charities were Nu-Hope of Highlands County and the Y.M.C.A.

He is survived by his wife, Angela P.; four sons, Charles D., Jr. of Lakeland, Andrew of Ft. Payne, AL, Steven C. and Gregory S., both of Lake Placid; three daughters, Linda Farnes of Lake Placid, Teresa Deen of Brattleboro VT, and Barbara Nichola of Cheney, WA; two brothers, Gene of Lake Placid and Burl of Zenia, IL; 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, October 30, 7 pm, at the Memorial United Methodist Church, Lake Placid with Rev. W. Ernest Dorrell and Chaplain Brian Pleasants officiating. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the Highlands County Emergency Medical Services Support Squad, 4500 George Blvd., Sebring FL 33872.
