Rubye B. Robards, 98, of Rondo passed away Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Forrest City Medical Center with family members at her side.
Rubye was born November 23, 1912 to Elmer Brewer and Lettie Hayes Shelton Brewer in Haynes, Lee County, Arkansas.
She is survived by two daughters, Ruby Ann Burchfield and husband, Dee of Proctor, AR; and Betty Jo Rainbolt of Harrison, AR; five grandchildren: Billy Burchfield and wife Lois of Rose Bud, AR; Babs Belew and husband Brad of Rondo, AR; Ellen Hall and husband David of Harrison; Micky Rainbolt of Harrison; Darryl Burchfield and wife Teresa of Bryant, AR; eight great-grandchildren: Brian Brady, Christen Hall, Chad Hall, Kellen Nissen and husband Jake, Katlynn Burchfield, Shelby Burchfield, Bailee Burchfield and Alissa Burchfield; brother, Buddy Grant; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Rubye was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph Howard Robards, sisters Sally Hendrickson, Belle Grantham, Jamie Murphy, Ida Lantrip, and Ima Jean Gwin; and son-in-law Mack Rainbolt.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m.Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Rondo Baptist Church, with burial following at LaGrange Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Rondo Baptist Church at 201 Estes, Rondo, AR 72355.
