Russian Imperial Army Colonel. He graduated from college and joined the Alexandrov 1st Battalion in 1913. Among the first he was awarded the Order of St. George during the Great War. In 1917 he became a captain and battalion commander. From 1918 he served in the Volunteer Army under the command of General Bogayevsky. Together with the army he was evacuated to Turkey (Gallipoli), then moved to Bulgaria and finally to France where he settled in Paris. He became a regular contributor to the editorial board of the emigrants' magazine "Time" (1929), and was at one time head of the Paris offices of the magazine. After the Second World War he led the center of the Russian Union of Pan-Martial in Paris. He also became chairman of the committee "for the elderly soldiers' Association" and chairman of the Alexis Infantry Regiment.
