Charles was married to Christine Rogers Holman on December 21 1935. He was a foreman in the #7 Weave Room of Cannon Mills Company. He also was active in YMCA where he played on the championship volleyball team.
Charles loved the outdoors and enjoyed working in his yard at home and at his house on High Rock Lake. He enjoyed boating and fishing, watching sports on tv, but most of all he adored his two sons and seven grandchildren.
