U.S. Congressman. Educated at the University of Wisconsin, he was a stock and bond salesman at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, (1929-32). Moving to California, he engaged in merchandising and office management. He was director of the Hollywood office of the California State Relief Administration, (1939-40) and a member of the Los Angeles City Council, (1943-44). In 1945, he was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-ninth Congress, serving until 1947. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he became a dealer in auto parts and accessories until retiring in 1969.
