Shirley May Hunt-Young, 60, of Boulder Hill died Wednesday, December 18 at the Rush - Copley Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 23 with Rev. Jerry Webster officiating at the Gabel-Dunn Funeral Home, Ltd. 335 West Church St., Sheridan, IL 60551-0027, phone 815-496-2003. Burial will be at the Elerding Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
She was born January 18, 1942 in Rockford, IL to James and Dorothy (Stebbins) Hunt. She married Harland Young November 25, 1961 in Aurora. She was a member of the Church of the Bretheran in Boulder Hill. She loved to play euchre and was an avid White Sox fan.
She is survived by her husband, Harland; her three sons, Rolland (Dana) Young of Boulder Hill, Matthew (Kendra) Young of Oswego, Wesley Young of home; four grandchildren, Luke Young, Sarah Young, Teryn Young, and Nathan Young; two brothers, Arthur (Nancy) Hunt of Norway, Thomas (Rita) Hunt of Boulder, CO; three sisters, Betty Lou (Ronnie) Larson of Sheridan, Sandra (Donald) Conrad of Grand Rapids, MN and Emma (Jerald) Larson of Grand Rapids, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard Hunt.
Pall bearers will be Rolland Young, Matthew Young, Wesley Young, Luke Young, Arthur Hunt and Thomas Hunt.
