USAF Captain Michael A. Barritt and Captain Glenn E. Troster were both killed on 8 June 1988 when their plane, an F-111D Aardvark, crashed in New Mexico on the Melrose bomb range while on a night training mission. Their unit was the 523rd TFS "Crusaders" Cannon AFB, New Mexico
