White, County Weigher, age 31, born in Texas; and her mother, Clara, a drygoods saleslady, age 26, born in Mississippi. Also living in the household was Jewell's sister, Opal White, age 9, born in Oklahoma; and Clara's mother, Emma Davis, a widow, age 67, born in Mississippi.
On November 10, 1941, she married Glen Howard Carruth. Jewell had been married previously and had one son, Garlan Wayne Gibson, by the earlier marriage. Garlan was raised by Jewell's parents, Clara and William. Jewell and Glen had one daughter, Patricia Ann Carruth.
Glen died July 29, 1969 in Bell County, Texas and was buried in Durant, Oklahoma (Bryan County) in the Highland Cemetery. Jewell died December 12, 1997 in Durant and was buried there in Highland Cemetery beside her husband. Obituary from Choctaw Nation Biskinik:
Jewell K. (White Carruth, age 86, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on December 12, 1997 in Dallas. She was the daughter of William Thomas White and Clara Bell (Davis) White. She was born November 26, 1911 in Durant, Oklahoma. She married Glenn H. Carruth.
A native of Durant, Oklahoma, she moved to Dallas in the 1940s. Mrs. Carruth was a SOSU graduate and a member of Durant First Christian Church. she was co-owner with her husband of Carruth Laboratories until her retirement in 1966.
She was proceeded in death by her husband and parents.
Survivors include a son, Garlan W. Gibson of Dallas and daughter, Patricia A. Hubbard of Whitewright, Texas; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
