David Allen served in the War of 1812 as a private in Capt. Strickland's Co., Mass. Militia. He married Fanny Barnard Blackler in 1815 in Deerfield, MA. He moved to Michigan between 1850 and 1860. The 1860 census shows David Allen living in Sparta with his daughter, Harriet, and son-in-law, Charles Martindale.
