Walter J. Baney, 70, of 1925 Apple Street, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 1988, in Williamsport Hospital.
Mr. Baney had been a self-employed used car dealer.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of Howard W. Kahler Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 844, and Garrett Cochran American Legion Post 1.
Mr. Baney attended Living Church, Montoursville.
Born, December 9, 1917, at Beach Creek, Clinton County, he was a son of Henry and Hannah Mayes Baney.
Surviving are his wife, the former Ada L. Tubbs; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Eckard and Ines Baney, both of this city; three sons, Walter H., of Huntingdon, Ron, of Marion, Ohio, and Dean, of this city; a sister, Mrs. Rowina Fassel, of Winfield; a brother, Delbert, of Big Rock, Illinois, 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sanders', 321 Diamond Street, with the Rev. Donald L. Baker, pastor of Living Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
