DRAIN — The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove for Michael Frederick Hoagland of Drain, who died Sept. 27 at age 48. The family chose not to list the cause of death.

He was born July 1, 1963, in Roseburg to Fred and Carole Bringle Hoagland. He married Timmie Treweek on July 6, 1984, in San Diego.

He graduated from Port Angeles High School in Washington and attended Lane Community College and Chemeketa Community College. He served in the Navy as a machinist mate first class (submarine service) and engineering laboratory technician. He served on the USS Barb. He worked as a millwright for North Douglas Wood Products for 15 years, for Weyerhaeuser for 18 years and, most currently, worked for International Paper in Springfield.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael of Drain and Devon of Springfield; three brothers, Bill May of Roseburg, Bob May of Craig, Alaska, and Curt May of Klawock, Alaska; and a sister, Patty Stephens of Philomath.

Burial will be at Comstock Cemetery in Curtin.
