Obit., 8/1/1947, Benton Advocate "SUDDEN DEATH OF GEORGE FARREY' Funeral Services for George Farrey, 59, were held at the Leadmine P.M. Church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. W.R. Esser officiating. The deceased a native of Leadmine, had spent the greater part of his life farming, but in recent years since moving to Benton, he has been doing some mining. The deceased is survived by his aged mother, Mary Farrey of Leadmine, his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Melvin Magee (Helen) of Shullsburg; Elaine at home; four sons, Verden, Lloyd, and Thomas of Benton, and Orville of Madison. He is also survived by one brother, W.J. Farrey and three sisters, Mrs. Alf Pedley, Mrs. Etta Carr, Mrs. Eva Redfearn. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Mrs. Bessie Bancroft.
