Private, Company L, 7th US Cavalry. Killed in action during the Battle of the Little Big Horn, Montana.

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he enlisted on 6 February 1872, at Age 21, in Chicago, Illinois. His previous occupation was as a laborer. He had blue eyes, light hair, a light complexion and was 5 feet, 5 ½ inches tall. His is also listed as Bernt Siemonson with other spellings of his last name. He was killed on Last Stand Hill, along with all of the soldiers of Custer's Column, and was initially buried where he fell. In 1878, the bodies of the soldiers were removed from their field burials and reinterred in a mass grave at the top of Last Stand Hill, where his body remains today. He was not married.
