Moved to Randolph Co., IL in 1817 with parents, to New Diggings in 1827. Married 1. Hulda Bean on Dec 29, 1833. She was born in 1815 in East Tennessee and died in 1847. Four children: Melville, Henry, James, Abraham. Married 2. Mrs. Gear in 1856. She was born in 1795 and died Feb. 22, 1880. She had four children from previous marriage: William, Oscar, Sophronia, Angelina.
