DEATH OF ROBERT BUCHANAN.

Died Sunday in Montana-But No Particulars Can Be Obtained.

Sunday evening Mr. John Wallbank received the startling and painful news of the death of Mr. Robert Buchanan, which occurred the same morning at his mining camp some twenty-five miles from Virginia City, Montana. No particulars of his death are at hand, the bare news of his death being contained in a telegram from Mrs. Buchanan. Mr. Wallbank is of the opinion that the cause of his death was pneumonia, but that of course is mere conjecture.

It was but a few weeks ago that Mr. Buchanan, in the full strength of a vigorous manhood and the hopes of finding in the fastness of the northwest the gold locked up in Nature's treasure house, left Mt. Pleasant with his wife and boys for the mining camps of Montana. No intimation of sickness has reached his friends here and the news of his death comes with complete surprise. Owing to the warm weather and the fact that the family are probably removed from proper undertaker's services, and the long distance by rail here, it is probable that the interment will take place where he died. Mr. Buchanan had many friends in Henry county and he had a wide acquaintances over the state. The telegram stated that a letter was on the way with the full particulars of the end. For this letter, his relatives and friends will wait with impatience.
