World War I Victoria Cross Medal Recipient. He served as a Ressaidar in the 14th Lancers Scinde Horse Indian Army, attached 29th Lancers. At Palestine, Israel, on September 23, 1918, his squadron charged a strong enemy position at the River Jordon. Ressaidar Singh realizing that heavy casualties were being inflicted from a small hill occupied by machine-guns with 200 infantry, collected six other men, charged and captured the position. He was mortally wounded on the top of the hill when capturing one of the machine-guns single handed, but all the guns and infantry had surrendered to him before he died. For most prestigious courageous duty, he was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross Medal.
