Miss Era E. Sutton, 65, 722 E. Seventh St., died Monday afternoon in the Woodlawn Nursing Home after an illness lasting three years. She was a former paymaster at the old McNaughton's Store and later at Ball Stores.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and of the High Street Methodist Church, where she was a member of the church choir and secretary of the Sunday School Department. She was born in Indianapolis, but moved to Muncie with her parents when one year old.
She is survived by a nephew, Charles Reece, Muncie, with whom she made her home; a sister, Mrs. Ida Nichols, Muncie; and several other nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Piepho Funeral Home after 11 a.m. Tuesday. Services will be there at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Dr. Harold D. Neel and Rev. Wayne Reece, Marion, her grandnephew, officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.
