Daughter of Dr. Ebenezer LeGette and Caroline Townsend Sweet. Ellen married (1) Edward Luther Smith, and (2) William Henry Calcutt.

FLORENCE - Mrs. Ellen Sweet Calcutt, widow of W. H. Calcutt, died at 10:20 Wednesday morning at the residence, 813 West Evans Street, after a long illness. Mrs. Calcultt was the mother of Mrs. Sam Mace of this city.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o'clock Thursday morning from the Waters Funeral Home by the Rev. E. E. Colvin, pastor of the Immanuel Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the family plot in the Palmer Cemetery at Centenary in Marion County.

Mrs. Calcutt was born in Marion County, a daughter of the late Dr. E. L. Sweet of Centenary and Mrs. Caroline Townsend Sweet of Little Rock. For the past 30 years she had resided in this city, having moved here from Marion.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, a member of the Women's Missionary Union of the church, a member of the King's Daughters and of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Maxie Gregg Chapter.

Besides her daughter, she is survived by two step-daughters, Mrs. Bennett Sasser of Conway and Mrs. Billy Kelly of Columbia; two step-sons, J. Bryan Calcutt of New York City and Dr. J. I. Calcutt of Chattanooga, Tenn.
