The daughter of Dorothea Bandelow and Daniel Bengelsdorf, Caroline was born in Warbende, Mecklenburg-Strelitz, Germany. She married Georg Friedrich Dörnbrack on October 3, 1839 in Wrechen and produced eight children before Georg passed away in 1872. Caroline immigrated to the U.S. that same year and Americanized her surname to Denbrock. Caroline is listed as one of the original members of St. Michael's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Marshallville, OH.
She was living with her daughter Minnie and son-in-law Carl Range by 1880 in Baughman Township, Wayne County, Ohio. Caroline survived to the ripe old age of 91; the cause of her death was paralysis. She left behind a host of friends, five children, thirty-two grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren, giving testament to a long rich life.
