Funeral services for Gail E. West, 65, of Springfield, Mo., were held at 10 a.m. on May 22, 2000 at his home in Springfield.
Gail was born on January 15, 1935 in Blair to Niel E. West and Gertrude (Stricklett) West. The family lived and farmed in the Blair and DeSoto area. Gail graduated from Blair High School in 1952. He served two years in the U. S. Army.
He attended DeVry Technical School in electronics and worked as his own TV repair business in Blair. He also worked for Miller-Rolland in Blair and later moved to Houston, Texas, where he worked for Data Resources at NASA. He later worked for Phillips and Chevron Petroleum until his retirement.
Gail is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Mike Schockley and two granddaughters, Chalis and Leana, all of Springfield, Mo.; one sister-in-law, and his cousins and friends.
Gail was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James.
