A celebration of life for former McMinnville resident Nicole Lynn Cunningham of the Salmon Creek area in Clark County, Wash., will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 10, in the Ridgefield Church of the Nazarene, Ridgefield, Wash.

Ms. Cunningham died June 24, 2003, of complications of cystic fibrosis. She was 25.

She was born Nov. 16, 1977, in Portland, the daughter of Michael and Eileen Cunningham. She graduated from South Salem High School and from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Wash.

She later lived in various places in the Northwest, including McMinnville, where she had worked in the McMinnville Eye Clinic.

She belonged to the Ridgefield Church of the Nazarene, where she played flute with the worship team and participated in Bible studies and fellowship groups. She planned to take graduate courses in pastoral studies, hoping to become a counselor for chronically ill children.

She was a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Her family said she was an amazing young woman who had conquered many challenges in her life, adding that she offered Christlike love to everyone she met and extended a helping hand when needed.

Survivors include her mother of McMinnville; her father and stepmother, Michael Cunningham and Margaret Cunningham, both of Ridgefield; a sister, Trisha Cunningham Blackman of La Grande; and several grandparents.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 5331 S.W. Macadam Ave., No. 340, Portland, OR 97239.
