Bernard E. Dill, 86, of Kittanning, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009, in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. He was born Aug. 24, 1922, in Boggs Township, to the late William A. and Jennie Marshall Dill. Mr. Dill was a dairy farmer, heavy equipment operator, carpenter and a former Boggs Township supervisor. He was also a member of the Pine Creek Sportsmen Club. Mr. Dill was an ordained elder and lifetime member of Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing and family and church gatherings. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Charlotte (White) Dill; a daughter, Shirley Dill, of Indiana; a son, Duane Dill, of Homer City; sister-in-law, Roberta Dill, of Templeton; and a brother-in-law, Dewitt Martin, of Templeton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Stanley, William, Harry, John and Lawrence; and five sisters, Ethel Dill, Pearle Neal, Ruth Powers, Ruby Hancock and Bernice Martin. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the KENNEDY & BLODGETT FUNERAL HOME INC., 253 North Grant Ave., Kittanning. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, Boggs Township, with the Rev. Ronald Long officiating. Interment will be in Mateer Cemetery, Boggs Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, 1433 State Route 28-66, Templeton, PA 16259.
