ELMER JAMES BROYLES - A memorial service for Elmer James Broyles of Newberg will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Friends Church in Newberg. He died in a Newberg care center Sunday of heart failure. He was 84.
Mr. Broyles was born May 4, 1909, in Woodburn, Oregon. In 1940 in Imperial, California, he married Lela Verl Dunagan. Mr. Broyles operated the Jimmy Broyles Auto Parts Store in El Centro, Calif., retiring in 1975. He lived in Keizer before moving to Newberg in 1987.
Mr. Broyles was a member of Friends Church in San Jose, California, and Newberg.
Surviving are his wife; a son, John of San Jose; sisters, Jessie Ringler of Sheridan and Charlotte Hansen of Monitor; and two granddaughters.
The family suggests that remembrances be contributions to Newberg Friends Church. Vault interment will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Belle Passi Cemetery in Woodburn, Oregon.
