Jake was born to Michael J. Humphries and Jacqueline Lloyd. His family moved to Manti where he graduated from Manti High School, earned his Eagle Scout award, worked as a volunteer in Manti Fire Department, and became the youngest certified welder in Utah. On July 20, 2001, he married Jalene Dee Hahn in Idaho Falls. As a CDL license holder, her worked as a materials handler for Diversified Metal and would catch and transport wild life in various states for Departments of Fish and Game. Jake loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, horseback riding, welding, snowmobiling, and taking care of his truck. He was very family oriented, made people laugh, and loved his dog "Tike". Survivors beside Jalene included: brother Matthew Jack Humphries; sister Mija Justine (Brian) Birch; grandmothers Nina Mae Humphries of Idaho Falls and Justine Ann Fonnesbeck of Pleasantview, UT. Preceding were grandfathers Wendell Humphries and Jack Wilson and best friend Jared Dennison. Gathering for family and friends held October 1st at Wood Funeral Home East in Ammon.
