Joyce Elosie Cline Houser, age 70, of Bristol, VA, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Grace Health Care, Abingdon, VA.
Mrs. Houser was the daughter of the late Wade H. Cline and Mossie Carman Cline. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, four brothers and one step son, Charles Houser.
Mrs. Houser retired from Sterling Casket Company as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Mayes Chapel Methodist Church in Tazewell, TN. She also loved flowers, family and cooking.
Survivors include her husband, Cecil Houser; mother-in law, Lucy Houser; two step-daughters, Cecilia Houser of Bristol, VA, and Lisa Price and husband, Patrick of Bristol, VA; sister, Lou Addy Day of Tazewell, TN; two brothers, Larry Cline and wife, Andrea of Tazewell, TN and David Cline and wife, Mary, of Abingdon, VA; three grandchildren, Corey Price, Daniel Houser and wife, Ashley and Matthew Houser and Kaleigh; one great-grandson, Drake Houser; brothers-in-law, Ricky Houser; Martin Houser, Jr.; Bill Houser and George Houser and wife, Judy; sisters-in-law, Eva Shaffer and husband, Joe; Lynda Felty and husband, William; Eula Murray and husband, Roscoe; Lila Worley and husband, Darryl; Donna Browning; Betty Hurd and husband, Steve and Ann Cox and husband, Don and several nieces and nephews....................A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 P.M., Thursday, September 29, 2011 in Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Larry Lilly officiating. The committal service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday in Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will include Don Cox, J. R. Houser, Ron Bostic, Patrick Price, Joe Shaffer and Stan Wright. Honorary Pallbearers will include Larry Cline and David Cline. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M., P.M., Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.
