Mary Evelyn Bankester, 70, passed away Monday, Sept. 26, 2011 in Daphne. She was a native of Clarksville, Va.
Mary had various careers throughout her lifetime, and was very interested in her family's genealogy.
She is survived by a sister, Elizabeth B. Dixon of Daphne; two brothers, Harlan Lee Bankester of Spanish Fort and Melvin Louis Bankester of Pensacola; four nieces, Kandy, Laura, Kelly and Breck; two nephews, Blake and Harlan Louis; aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Harlan C. and Annie A. Bankester.
The family would like to send a special thank you to her friends, Tom and Linda Paulson for all their support.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at 10 a.m., at Bromley Community Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, or to a charity of choice.
