Anna Schuette Kahl was born Aug. 9, 1869 in Buffalo, New York to Henry Y. Schuette. Her mother's maiden name was Meyer and she died and is buried in New York. Obituary from Vernon Daily Record: Mrs. Gus Kahl, 68, residing four miles south of Vernon, died Thursday night. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon from the First Baptist Church in Vernon with Rev. M.H. Geissler officiating. Interment, in charge of the Underwood Funeral Home, will be in Eastview Memorial Park in Vernon, Texas. She married Gus Kahl January 2, 1895 in Fayette, Texas. Surviving are the husband and three sons, Irvin Kahl of Paris, Texas; Alfred Kahl of Vernon; and Lee Kahl of Long Beach, California; five daughters, Mrs. Lena Streit of Five-in-One, Mrs. Selma Koenning of Electra, Mrs. Carrie Sanders of Tahoka, Texas, Mrs. Hattie Sanders of Tahoka, Texas and Mrs. Leona Hardison of Vernon, Texas. Mrs. Kahl was born in Buffalo, New York. She had lived in Wilbarger County since 1905. She was the former Miss Anna Schuette. Mrs. Kahl has four living half-brothers , Julius Schuette of Slaton, Texas; Fred Schuette of Vernon; Louis Schuette of Wichita Falls, Texas and William Schuette of Slaton, Texas. Mrs. Kahl has 27 grandchildren. Half-sisters surviving are Mrs. Henry Kiesling of Oklaunion, Texas; Mrs. Bill Bishop of Tahoka, Texas and Mrs. Rose Davis of Odessa, Texas. Pallbearers will be Fred Reithmeyer, Bob Ashley, Paul Haney, Earl Quick, John Streit and Herman Gfeller.
