SHADOW
1995 – 9/19/2011
A devout and loyal friend, Shadow was her name.

I'm gona get your tail, was her favorite game.

Great love she spread, among us all and

She dearly loved, to fetch her tennis ball.

A stranger, Shadow did never meet

With tail wagging , she would run and greet.

On occasion a black bear, would come into the yard

With a vicious growl, her domain she would guard.

Shadow walked the fence line, so often it left a trail

Her defense of the home, this trail does fortell.

From her actions, she almost could talk

She was one friend, that had no fault.

We all loved her dearly, her presence we will miss

Missed most of all will be her licking kiss.

Like a magnet, she attracted friends near and far

Neighbors, relatives, and people visiting in a car

Many were won over by her loving demeanor

And a smile came on their face every time they seen her

She was a free spirit, loving the outside

Now she is running and playing on the other side.
