Born in Gibson Apr 13, 1866. the son of Oren and Electa Knapp Rose, he was twice married; to Ella Van Etten, who died 27 years ago, and 25 years ago to Nettie Saunders, who survives.
Mr. Rose had worked at the NY Central Railroad shops, the Corning Glass Works, and for the past 13 years had operated a grocery store In Gibson.
Surviving besides his widow are one daughter, Mrs. Thelma Griffin of Philadelphia, PA,
three step-children, Mrs. Walter Davis and Harold Van Etten, both of Corning, and Mrs.
Ella Burns of Elmira; one step-grandson, Lynn Davis of Corning.
The body was removed to the Carpenter Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
