Two more children Liviing.Edith Justine Davis, 94, of Rt. 2 West Union passed away at her home on Friday, December 31, 2010. She was under the loving care of her granddaughters. She was born on June 16, 1916, a daughter of the late Milton (Ledrew) and Arelia Lacy Knight Ross. Her husband Kenneth ("Slim") Davis, daughter, Mamie Cade, four brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.

Justine is survived by one daughter, Eleanor DeJarnette of Picayune, MS, her children, Kendra Lee Tarver of Asheville, NC; Billy and Jamie Jones of Picayune, MS; Jeffrey Jones of New Orleans, LA; Jennifer Messina, Slidell, LA; and Rebecca Rigaud of Sebastian, FL. Surviving also are son, James K. (Ken) Davis, Jr., wife, Barbara, and their son Kevin of Valrico, FL. Surviving children of Mamie Cade are Edith Carder of West Union; Barbara Shaffer, Jackie Brown, Tim McKinney, Leta Reed, Galena Carder and Greg Cade of Salem; Shana Aichele of West Union, Rick McKinney of Pleasant Beach, NJ; Tara Wilson of Morgantown; and Raymond McKinney of Greenville, SC. Also surviving are many great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Justine loved being a homemaker, always putting family first. She loved to watch Christian television, the news and avidly followed current events. She had a keen sense of humor and unflinching dedication to her family. She was a Christian and lived her life every day serving the Lord. Her family and friends will sorely miss her.

Eleanor and Ken would like to express their gratitude to the family of Mamie Cade for their caring support. Special thanks is extended to nieces Barbara Shaffer, Edie Carder, Jackie Brown, and Galena ("Tink") Carder for their unyielding devotion and loving care of their grandmother during the last years of her life.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
