Josephine (Josie) DeChambeau 1934 - 2011 Josephine (Josie) DeChambeau, 76, of Boise, passed away Friday, September 23, 2011 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Josie was born to the late Audra and Roxey Burns on October 15, 1934 in Meridian, Idaho. Josie grew up on a farm on Eagle Rd. in Meridian with her four sisters. She graduated from Meridian High School in 1953. She subsequently attended college at Idaho State University. Josie married Jack DeChambeau on February 18, 1956. They began their 55 years together living in Boise, later moving to their ranch in the Dry Creek Valley of Boise. There, she raised her family and made many wonderful friendships that have endured over the years. Jack and Josie later retired in Boise. Josie's accomplishments were many; she co-owned the "Busy Biddies Emporium" in Eagle and was well known for her participation in and support of the Idaho Cattleman's Association. Not only was she a mother of twins and a third child at the time, she was a 4-H leader for all of the kids at Dry Creek. Josie loved to quilt and had quite a reputation for her knowledge, skill and talent in quilt making. She was a member of the Dry Creek Quilting Group and Idaho Stars Quilters. She has blessed many individuals and families with her gifts of quilts and good deeds all through her lifetime. Throughout the years, she was actively involved in Trinity Fellowship Church and most recently attended The Vineyards. She loved her Lord with all her heart, mind, body and soul and her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her! Josie is survived by her spouse, Jack and their four children; son Barton DeChambeau and spouse Bonnie, their children Chelsi, Katy and Emily; daughter Tonya DeChambeau and her children Michael, Sara and Patricia; daughter Ann DeChambeau, son John DeChambeau and spouse Kelly, their children Faith, Josiah, Owen and Thayden as well as two great-grandchildren, Jordon and Landon. She is survived by sisters Annabell Parsons and Maxine Berry. She was preceded in death by her parents; Audra and Roxey Burns, sisters Ida Walker and Mary Lindley and brother Robert Burns. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 28 at Joplin Cemetary in Boise. Memorial services and Reception to follow at 12 p.m.- Summers Funeral Home-Ustick Chapel in Meridian. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
