Agnes Poulsen Dead - Popular Ludington Young Lady Falls Victim to Dread White Plague
The many friends of Miss Agnes Poulsen (sic), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Poulsen of north Staffon street, will be pained to learn of the death of this young lady at 2:30 o'clock this (Wednesday) morning.
Miss Poulsen was one of Ludington's most popular young ladies, a graduate of the Ludington high school class of 1903, and formerly a teacher in our country schools. Miss Poulsen was 22 years old and for the past year it was known that she was an unfortunate victim of that dread disease consumption. For two months past she has been bed ridden and a great sufferer.
After teaching a year in Hamlin township deceased young lady attended college at Dixon, Ill., from which school she afterwards graduated. She then taught school in Illinois until about a year ago when she was obliged to give up her work. Besides the sorrowing father and mother she leaves to mourn her loss three brothers and three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Anderson and Mrs. Jas. Hathaway of Ludington and Mrs. Frank Arndt of Amber, John Poulsen with Sherman Bros., Peter Poulsen employed at Abrahamson's art store and Hans Poulsen employed at Brandt's grocery.
The family have the deep sympathy of the entire community in this hour of their bereavement.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Norwegian church on Danaher street.
Agnes Paulsen is buried next to her father, Ole Paulsen in Block 12, Lot 92 of Lakeview Cemetery.
