James W. Pruitt, 84 year-old resident of Woodward, died March 7, 2006 at the Woodward Regional Hospital. Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2006 in the Zwanziger Funeral Home Chapel, with Gordon Lawson officiating. Burial followed in the Elmwood Cemetery, under the direction of the Zwanziger Funeral Home. James W. Pruitt was born Nov. 13, 1921 at Rose Bud, Arkansas to William and Mary (Adams) Pruitt. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in Germany. Jim fought at the Battle of the Bulge in Germany. Jim worked as a auto mechanic. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers Albert, Hubert, Reuben, and William; four sisters, Ethel Williams, Gracie Horton, Gladys Perkins and Lillian Williams; one son, Jimmie L Pruitt and one grandson, Benjamine Ashcraft.
