An autopsy to determine the cause of death of a 35-year-old welder, whose body was found on a levee yesterday, was ordered by homicide investigators. Police said the body was that of Robert Golden Sims of 105 East Davant. Mr. Sims had been missing since he left home May 11 to go to a corner cafe, police files showed. Men working near the levee beside Nonconnah Creek at the south end of Riverside Park spotted the body in grass above water level at 10:15 yesterday morning. Detectives said the body was so badly deteriorated that cause of death could not be determined immediately, but that the body had apparently been in the water for some time before the creek receded. Mr. Sims was a welder for Valley Products Co. at 384 East Brooks. The spot where his body was found was near his home. He was born in Shelby County and lived most of his life in Memphis. Mr. Sims was an Army veteran with service in Germany. He was a member of Mallory Heights Baptist Church. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Sims; a son, Randy Sims; two daughters, Dawn Marie Sims and Lisa Carole Sims, all of the East Davant address; his mother, Mrs. Dan Stulz of 297 East Waldorf; three half-brothers, Ray Stultz, Jimmy Stultz and William Stultz, all of Memphis; and two sisters, Mrs. Clyde Wilson of 450 Shawnee and Mrs. John Herron of 2681 Durby Circle.
