McClellan Pittman, 84, of 20722
Great Cove Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at Chambersburg [Franklin
Co.] (Pa.) Hospital. Born July 30, 1918, in McConnellsburg, he was the son
of the late McClellan and Mame Gillis Pittman. He was preceded in death by
his wife, Stella Marie Truax Pittman, in 1982. They were married Dec. 15,
1963. He retired from PennDot. He was a farmer. He served in the U.S.
Army. He was a member of American Legion Post 561 of McConnellsburg. He
is survived by one daughter, Patti Himes of Chambersburg; two sons, Wayne
R. Pittman of Lebanon, Pa. and Kevin Pittman of McConnellsburg; one sister,
Mary Cline of McConnellsburg; one brother, Robert Pittman of
McConnellsburg; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an
infant daughter, Joyce M. Pittman; and two brothers, John Pittman and Paul
Pittman. Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral
Home, McConnellsburg. The Rev. Donald Bard will officiate. Burial will be
in Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, with military services by Fulton Honor
Guard. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the
funeral home, which will open at 2 p.m."
