Clifford Spencer…96 of Minneota, formerly of Lake Benton, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the Minneota Manor in Minneota. Memorial service will be held 11a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the United Methodist Church in Lake Benton. Burial is in Memorial Hill Cemetery in Lake Benton.
Clifford Dean Spencer was born January 8, 1915 in Shaokatan Township, Lincoln County, Minnesota to John and Annie (Dahl) Spencer. He grew up on a farm and attended school in Drammen Township. On February 22, 1942 he was united in marriage to Geraldine Nelson at Lake Benton. The couple farmed in Drammen Township until 1979 when they retired and moved to Lake Benton. Geraldine passed away in August 2007. Clifford was a member of the United Methodist Church. He enjoyed farming, baking cookies, carpentry and woodworking. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Clifford died on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the Minneota Manor in Minneota, Minnesota, attaining the age of 96 years, 8 months, and 9 days.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Geraldine, and sisters Emma Wodtke and Ida Woelber.
