Mrs. Esther Robertson
Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ in Browning on Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Esther Robertson, who passed away at her home here Sunday morning following an illness of several weeks. Rev. L. A. Crown conducted the services, and interment was at Ridgeville {New} cemetery.
Lydia Esther, the daughter of John and Sarah Walton, and was born in Browning township Nov. 1, 1846. She was united in marriage to Joel Robertson March 18, 1869, and passed to the great beyond May 22, 1938, in her ninety-second year.
Mrs. Robertson is survived by three of the eight children which blessed her marriage, Mrs. Della White of Beardstown, Mrs. Inez Bader and Fred of near Browning. The husband and father died June 10, 1916. Besides the children there survives a sister, Mrs. James Barron of Monmouth, twenty-eight grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
The decedent united with the Christian church when fourteen years old, and remained a consistent follower of its teachings thruout her long and useful life.
Among those from a distance who were here to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Robertson of Salisbury, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Robertson of Belleville, and Miss Urla Robertson of Springfield.
