65-Year Resident of City, Mrs. James Setliff, Dies

Mrs. James M. (Azelia) Setliff 78, 137 No. G Street, a resident of Tulare for more than 65 years, died Saturday in a local hospital.

She was born June 23, 1882 in Nickleville, Va. and came to Tulare with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Silas R, Gulley.in 1895. Here she became the wife of the late James Setliff, who had come to Tulare in 1885. Her husband was a pioneer farmer in the Paige atea, west of Tulare. for more than 50 years. He die June 15, 1953. Mrs. Setliff had been a member of the Tulare First Methodist Church since 1916.

Surviving are a daughter, Loretts Nicholson, Tulare; and two stepsons, Guy M Setliff, Tulare, and Roland Setliff, New York City; a sister Mrs Katherine Neal, Oildale; a brother Fred Gulley, Visalia; a niece Mrs. Wilma Graham, Santa Rosa; a cousin Mrs Ced Frazer, Tulare; a sister in law, Mrs. Alvis Gulley, formeraly of Tulare, now of Santa Rosa; four nephews and three nieces.

Funeral services will be tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. in the Goble Chapel, with Rev. Walter Gourley of the first Mthodist Church officiating. Burial in the family plot in Tulare Cemetery will follow.
