Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, March 27,at 2:00 in the Schafer and Peck Funeral Home. Rev. Norman Crounse of Craig officiated. Mrs. George Redmon sang appropriate hymns, accompanied by Mrs. Helen Hume.
Burial was in Decatur cemetery.
Pallbearers were Roy Watkins, Lloyd Gilliland, Jake Lydick, Frank Palmer, Roy Finch, and Howard Gilliland.
Abner C. Puffer, son of Frederick L. and Elizabeth Ann Corey Puffer, was born in Burt County on August 12, 1868, and departed this life on March 23, 1956,at Plattsmouth, Nebraska, Rest Home at the age of 87 years, 7 months and 11 days.
Mr. Puffer was united in marriage to Rosia Gilliland and to this union two sons were born, Francis Elwyn and Linton Orville. His wife and his two sons preceded him in death.
He leaves to mourn his passing four grandchildren, Linton and Marion of Blair, Russell and Rosemont of Tekamah, children of Linton Orville and Blanche Puffer Watkins: one Great-granddaughter JoAnn and one sister, Mr-5 Minnie Jones of Wisconsin. Several nieces and nephews and other relatives, and friends mourn his death.
