CULBERTSON -- Alice Meints, age 85, died Thursday at the Hillcrest Nursing Home of McCook.

Mrs. Meints was born July 2, 1895 at Lawrenceville, Illinois to the late Charles and Mary (Duncan) Seed. As a child, she came to Southwest Nebraska with her parents where she grew up. She was married October 10, 1923 at Atwood, Kansas to Henry I. Meints. They farmed southwest of Culbertson for 33 years before moving to Culbertson in 1954. Mrs. Meints moved to McCook in 1973.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, August 27, 1966.

Survivors include three sons, Vern of McCook, Don of Culbertson, and Ray of Lincoln; one daughter, Mrs. Wilbur (Doris) Brown of Elm Creek; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Samuel Seed of Buffalo, Missouri.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in St. John's Lutheran Church of Culbertson with the Rev Glenn Schultz officiating. Interment will be in the Culbertson Cemetery under the direction of the Herrmann Funeral Chapel at Culbertson.

Memorials may be given in her name and friends may call at the funeral chapel in Culbertson.
