Organized Crime Figure. He was one of the most powerful bootleggers in the New Jersey/New York area during Prohibition and was closely associated with Lucky Luciano and Meyer Lansky. When prohibition ended Zwillman and Costello Family Underboss Willie Moretti controlled the gambling operations in New Jersey. Longie committed suicide by hanging himself in the basement of his mansion in West Orange, New Jersey.
