Born in Ridgewood to George and Anna Meyer,Dot was employed by barbizon where she met her husband,James.The couple was married in 1939 and shared 70 years together before his passing in 2009. Dot was a Sunday School teacher,Jr choir leader and pioneer girls Leader for many years,as well as a longtime member of the Jacksonville Chapel in Lincoln Park.She loved knitting and crocheting,as well as spending summers with her family in Ocean Grove.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters,Dorothy Moore,Sheri McCarthy and her husband Donald,and Nancy Smith and her husband Len,nine grandchildren and ten greatgrandchildren.She is also survived by two brothers Donald Meyer(wife Jean),and George Meyer Jr(wife Anne)and three sisters Anne Redyke,Pearl Klingen and Grace West.
She was proceeded in death by her husband James,brothers Thomas and John,and sister Ruth Perry.
