WILLIAM NELSON BARRET

William Nelson Barret died in his home, 1013 Floyd Avenue, yesterday at 6:17 P. M. He was the son of Charles Barret, a lawyer. of Louisa, county, Va.; grandson of John Barret, mayor of RICHMOND In the years 1791, 1793 and 1798; great-gradson of the Rev. Robert Barret, pastor of St. Martin's Parish, Hanover County, Va, from 1734 until his death in 1785, and great-great-grandson of the Rev. Robert Barret, who came with two brothers from the court of St. James, London, to the Jamestown Colony. Virginia, near the year 1650. One of these brothers perished in a duel and the other met death at the hands of the Indians soon after landing.
William Nelson Barret retired from his plantation upon the James river in 1890, spending the winters in this city. He was stricken with paralysis on Whitsuntide just before leaving his house for his attendance on the Hustings court, which was presided over by his grandfather, the mayor, more than a hundred years ago.
His wife, Ann Elizabeth Barret, died In March, 1905. He Is survived by three sons, Dr. Morriss Barret and Herndon Barret and Ben T. Barret, and four daughters, Mrs. John Syno Fleming, Mrs. William A. Hankins. Mrs. Benjamin Bioxton and Mrs. John W. Fisher.
Mr. Barret was married hy Bishop Cummins in St. James Church. In this city, where he and his wife were later confirmed by Bishop Whittle, and from which his wife's funeral was conducted by its pastor, the Rev. William Mead Clark.
The funeral will take place at 1:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon from St. James Episcopal church. The service will be conducted by tho Rev. William Meade Clark, the hour being so arranged that Mr. Clark can take the afternoon train for Williamsburg, where he is to preach to the students of William and Mary. The burial will be In Hollywood.
The following have been invited to act as pall-bearers: Isaac Diggs, Overton Howard, Frank W. Duke. John G. Winston, G. Carlton Jackson, E. A. Gray, C.P. Cardwell and Richard W. Wrenn. Honorary pall-bearers: Colonel B. O. James and Joseph V. Bldgood.
