"HARRISONVILLE, [Fulton Co.] Pa. - Norman E. "Bing" Batdorff, 76, of 13840 Sipes Mill Road, died Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital. Born Oct. 8, 1928, in Saluvia, Pa., he was the son of the late William E. and Blanche Reed Batdorff. He was a truck driver for DeShong's Oil and Grove World Wide. He also drove a school bus for Greenhill School for 20 years. He was a member of Siloam United Methodist Church in Harrisonville, Pa. He was a member of McConnellsburg (Pa.) Volunteer Fire Co. He is survived by his wife, A. Jane Sipes Batdorff, whom he married March 25, 1950; two daughters, Kathy R. Batdorff of Greencastle, Pa., and Linda S. DeShong of McConnellsburg; one son, Duncan E. Batdorff of McConnellsburg; one sister, Goldie R. Kline of Chambersburg; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Siloam United Methodist Church in Harrisonville. Pastor William Bair will officiate. Burial will be in Siloam United Methodist Cemetery in Harrisonville. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home in Harrisonville, which will open at 3 p.m. Visitation also will be Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church."
