CULBERTSON -- Carrie Rippen, 93, died Tuesday at the El Dorado Manor, Trenton. She was born October 18, 1886 in Hallam to Eilert and Rebecca Schnieder. On April 7, 1902 she was married to Henry Rippen at Hallam. They lived in Kramer until 1926 when they moved to a farm near Culbertson. Mr. Rippen died in 1950, and she moved into town. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sons, and four grandchildren.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Blanche Brown and Mrs. Merylin Fassler, both of Culbertson; three sons, Alfred, Leland, and Gordon, all of Culbertson; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Sophia Heineman of Hallam and Mrs. Florence Diers of Lincoln, and two brothers, Rudolph Schneider of Sprague and Edwin Schneider of Hallam.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the United Methodist Church with the Rev Richard Atherton officiating. Burial will be in the Culbertson Cemetery under the direction of the Carpenter-Breland Funeral Home, McCook.
